Ingredients

  • 4 c boiling water
  • 3 c quick oats
  • 7-1/2 - 8 c flour
  • 2 pkgs yeast
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 1/2 c honey
  • 4 Tbsp oil

Preparation

Step 1

Pour water over oats in a large bowl. Let cool until luke warm.
Stir in 2 cups flour with yeast.
Let rise until doubled.

Stir in honey, salt, oil and enough remaining flour to make stiff dough.

Knead for 8-10 minutes.

Divide, make into loaves.

Put in 9x5" pans. Allow to double in size.

Sprinkle each with oats.

Bake at 350 for 40 - 60 minutes.
