  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 jar (28 oz) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) stewed tomatoes, chopped (undrained)
  • 1 pkg (10 oz) frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and well drained
  • 1 container (16 oz) cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 10 uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese


Servings 6


Step 1

Preheat oven to 375

In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned; drain excess liquid

Add salt, spaghetti sauce and tomatoes; stir until well blended; set aside

In medium bowl, combine broccoli, cottage cheese, parmesan cheese and egg; mix well

Spread 2 cups of spaghetti sauce mixture over bottom of 9 x 13 x 2 inch dish, coated with nonstick spray

Placed 4 uncooked noodles lengthwise over sauce and 1 noodle crosswise across end of baking dish, completely cover sauce mixture, pressing noodles into it

Spread cheese-broccoli mixture evenly over noodles, then sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella cheese

Cover that evenly with 1 1/2 spaghetti sauce mixture, arrange remaining noodles over sauce, pressing lightly into sauce

Spread remaining spaghetti sauce mixture over top

Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until noodles are tender

Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaning 1/2 cup of mozzarella; over with foil and let sit for 15 minutes before serving
