Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into small strips
  • 1/4 cup soya sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 8 oz. can pineapple chunks with juice
  • 2/3 cup chopped green pepper
  • 12 oz. chinese style thin egg noodles
  • 8 mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups prepared sweet & sour sauce
  • 2 tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions

Step 1

Drain juice from pineapple and combine juice with soya sauce and crushed red pepper. Marinate beef strips in pineapple mixture in fridge for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Discard marinade. Prepare noodles according to package directions. Set aside. Heat sesame oil in wok. Brown beef over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add green pepper and mushrooms; saute for 5 minutes. Add noodles and pineapple. Stir in sweet & sour sauce and sesame seeds. Heat 3 minutes until hot throughout, stirring constantly; do not boil.

Top with green onions. Serve immediately.
