Ingredients
- 2 pkgs or 2 T. active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar, scant
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 6 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 3 eggs (separate 1 egg white)
- 1 c. seedless raisins
- 3/4 powdered sugar,
- egg white & water for frosting

Step 1
Mix first 5 ingredients & 2 c. flour. Heat milk & butter in saucepan until very warm (120-130°). Slowly mix liquid into dry ingredients; beat 2 min. Add eggs & 2 c. flour & beat (low speed) 2 min. Add raisins & remaining flour. Put in greased bowl, cover with cloth & let rise until doubled. Punch down after 1 ½ hr. On floured surface pat out dough. Form rolls (15) to a greased 9 X 13" pan. Cover & let rise until double. Brush tops with slightly beaten egg white (yoke in dough), ½ tsp. sugar, & 1 T. water. Bake 15 to 20 min. at 375º or until golden. Powdered sugar frosting for cross.
