Old Fashioned Bread Pudding

Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 3 c. bread crumbs
- 2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, scant
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 3/8 c. butter
- 1/2 c. plus 2 T. cream
- pinch of salt

Step 1
Combine milk & butter in sauce pan & scald. Set aside. Beat eggs well. Add sugar, spices, vanilla, & salt. Mix well. Add warm milk, mix well, & pour over bread crumbs. Pour into buttered casserole dish & add raisins. Bake at 350° for 30 min., or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. (Hint: homemade bread, baked frozen bread, & cinnamon rolls work best.) Serve warm with sauce.
Sauce: Cook until bubbly. May be warmed in microwave
