Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Butter
- 1 c. Sugar (191 g.)
- 3 Eggs
- 2 c. Flour, all-purpose (199 g.)
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tbsp Salt
- 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon, ground
- 1/4 tbsp Nutmeg, ground
- 1 c. Applesauce (179 g.)
- 1/4 c. Dark molasses (treacle) (88 g.)
- 1 c. Raisins (151 g.)
- 1/2 c. Nuts, chopped (58 g.)

Preparation
Step 1
1 Preheat oven to 350 °F.
2 In a large bowl, cream butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
3 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4 Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon & nutmeg; set aside.
5 Combine applesauce & molasses.
6 Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce mixture to egg mixture.
7 Fold in raisins & nuts.
8 Pour into a greased 9 ¼ x 5 ¼ x 2 ¾ inch loaf pan.
9 Bake at 350 °F.
10 For 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
11 Cool 10 min., remove from pan & continue cooling on a wire rack.
