Bread Pudding (the one I know Jeff likes)
- 3 large whole eggs
- 8 large egg yolks
- 5 cups half and half
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 6 croissants, preferably stale
- 1 cup raisins
preheat oven to 350
wisk together whole eggs, egg yolks, half and half, sugar, and vanilla (or use a blender). Slice or rip half of croissants in half horizontally in an oval dish 10 by 15 1/2 dish. Then add raisins. Then put other half of bread on top (or raisins will burn). Pour custard over and soak for 10 minutes.
Put pan in water bath with 1 inch of hot water. cover the larger pan with foil tenting foil so it doesn't touch the pudding. Cut holes in foil. Bake 45 mintues. uncover and bake 40-50 more minutes or until custard is set.
