Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups stewed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound chopped fresh quahogs(or clams)
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans of red kidney beans(drained)
  • 1 (16 ounce) can of cannelini beans(drained)

Preparation

Step 1

In a large saucepan or pot, put in three tablespoons of oil. Chop up one green papper and one onion and saute for three minutes in oil. Add two cups of stewed tomatoes, one tablespoon of chili powder, and simmer until thick- about 1 hour.

Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add one pound of chopped fresh quahogs(or clams), two (16 ounce) cans of red kidney beans( drained) and one (16 ounce) can of cannelini beans (drained).
Optional- add one pound of fresh sauteed tuna.

Simmer for thirty minutes.
