Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1 cube Butter
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • Puff:
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cube Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • Milk, to make a thick drizzle
  • Slivered Almonds, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Crust:
Cut the butter into the flour, add water to make a crust. Divide into 2 (9x4) pieces on a large cookie sheet.

Puff:
Bring water and butter to a boil, remove from heat, add flavoring. Add flour and mix quickly. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each addition. Divide and spread over crust.

Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.

Drizzle with glaze. Sprinkle with slivered almonds, if desired. Cool completely. Slice into desired pieces.
