Ingredients

  • 2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (16 oz) chili beans in sauce, undrained
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

Step 1

1 In 12-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
2 In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, mix beef, onion and remaining ingredients.
3 Cover and cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours.
