Ingredients
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup carob powder
- 1/4 cup soy flour
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- 1 cup pitted, chopped dates
- 1 cup chopped nuts or seeds

Step 1
Beat egg yolks until thick; add honey and vanilla. Whisk together salt, carob powder, flour and wheat germ. Fold into egg yolk mixture. Add dates and nuts. Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into batter. Pour into oiled 11-by-8-inch baking dish. Bake at 350 F for about 20 minutes. May be served warm without icing or frosted when cool.
