Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 C grated onions
  • 1-1 1/2 C bread crumbs
  • 1/2 C milk
  • 2 eggs - lightly beaten
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 TBS brown sugar
  • 1 TBS dry mustard
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 - 2 C cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 350 F.

In large bowl mix beef, grated onion, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, cheese, parsley, S & P and half the tomato sauce.

Form into loaf, transfer to meatloaf pan.

In small bowl combine brown sugar, mustard and rest of tomato sauce. Stir until sugar dissolved. Pour over meatloaf. Can add bacon or/and onion slices if desired.

Bake in oven 1- 1 1/2 hours.

Remove from oven to a cooling rack. Remove meatloaf pan insert by handles to a platter or cutting board. Let meatloaf sit and rest for 10 minutes.
