- 1 3/4 cups dried apricot halves (about 11 ounces)
- Water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Sugar
- Waxed paper

Preparation
Step 1
In medium saucepan, place apricots and enough water to cover. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 15 minutes. Remove from heat and drain thoroughly. Mash well or blend until smooth in a blender. Combine apricots, 1 cup sugar and spices in saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Remove from heat; cool 15 minutes. Spread mixture in a thin, even layer on 2 lightly-greased pieces of waxed paper each measuring 12 inches square. Let stand uncovered, in a warm, dry place about 48 hours. Cut into strips a half-inch wide; roll each strip into a pinwheel. To serve, dip cut edges in sugar. Store in a cool, dry place; will keep about 3 weeks.
