Walnut-Wild Rice Pilaf

Ingredients
- 1 cup uncooked wild rice
- 3 cups Vegetable Stock (recipe in collection) or water
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
- 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
- Freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Preparation
Step 1
Place the rice in a large saucepan; add enough stock or water to cover rice by 3 inches. Stir in parsley, thyme, and marjoram. Cook over medium heat, uncovered, until rice is tender but not mushy, about 30 minutes. During the cooking period check occasionallly to be certain the stock has not cooked away. Add water if necessary.
Drain the rice. Sprinkle with pepper; stir in butter, soy sauce, and walnuts.
