Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup applesauce

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 F. Coat a cookie sheet with vegetable cooking spray; set aside.

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger and allspice.

In a separate large bowl, cream together sugar and margarine. Whisk in molasses and applesauce. Add flour mixture to applesauce mixture and mix until combined.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto sheet. Flatten cookies with moistened fingertips. Bake for 15 minutes. Place on cooling rack.
