Ingredients

  • 4 cups pared, sliced apples
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.

Combine apples, cinnamon, salt and water and pour into prepared dish. In a bowl, combine flour and sugars and cut in butter with fingers or pastry cutter until crumbly. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.

Bake in preheated oven 40 to 50 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is golden.
