Family recipe --- simple and delicious. Freezes well.
This makes one 13x9 inch pan and an 8 inch pan.
Freeze one.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. hamburger
- 1 Tbsp. fresh garlic
- 2 Tbsp. basil
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 3 dashes of Louisiana hot sauce
- 1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
- 1 13 oz. can tomato paste
- 1 package mushrooms, sliced
- 3/4 of 16 oz. package lasagne noodles
- 4 cups cottage cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan
- 2 Tbsp. dried parsley
- 2 eggs, beaten
- freshly ground pepper
- 3 1/3 cups grated mozzarella cheese

Step 1
In a large skillet, brown the hamburger, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain well.
Add the garlic, basil, oregano, tomatoes, tomato paste, and Louisiana. Mix well and set to simmer for 30 minutes. Add sliced mushrooms to meat after 15 minutes. Cool.
In the meantime, cook the lasagne noodles as per instructions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
In a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, Parmesan, parsley, eggs and pepper. Set aside.
Spray pan(s) with Pam.
Layer: a drizzle of meat sauce;
1/2 of the noodles;
all the cottage cheese;
1/2 of the mozzarella;
1/2 of the meat;
remaining noodles;
remaining meat;
remaining mozzarella.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes if unfrozen, and for 45 minutes if frozen.
