- 6 ripe tomatoes
- coarse salt and pepper
- 6 cloves garlic
- 3 tbspns EVOO
- shredded parm-reg cheese (1 oz-optional)
- 1-2 tbspn fresh thyme leaves- optional

Step 1
Cut the tomatoes in half crosswise. season with salt and pepper.Peel and pulverize the garlic. Heat the oil over med. heat. add the garlic and cook until fragrant 1-2 mins. pour the garlic and oil into heatproof bowl. Oil grill, brush with oil. Place the tomatoes cut-side down until nicely browned 3-5 mins. Turn over with tongs, spoon the fried garlic over them, continue grilling until the botoms are nicely browned 3-5 mins. sprinkle with cheese and thyme if you want.
