Ingredients
- 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 10 ounces white chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped macadamia nuts, lightly toasted

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Blend in vanilla. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Drop by Tbsp about 3 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 12 - 14 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand a few minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.
