A Treat for Mom

By

Last year (1990), four year olds in Maple Glen, PA, created an unusual Mother's Day gift: a cookbook of their recipes for favorite dishes! Here - exactly as dictated to nursery-school teachers - are a few of the entries.

*********************************************
Chocolate Cake:
1 egg
Put chocolate on it
1 butter

Put in the oven. Take it out. Then you can eat it!

Colleen Williams

*********************************************
Chicken:
Put stuffing in it. And you take off the legs and cut it up. Put it in the oven at 5 degrees for 4 minutes. Take it out and put gravy on it (from a can).

Katie Brady

*********************************************
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich:
1 scoop of peanut butter
2 scoops of jelly
2 pieces of bread

Put the peanut butter on one and the jelly on the other. Smash it together and it will stick together. I think that's all.

Edward Meyers

*********************************************
Scrambled Eggs:
100 eggs
10 drops water
2 thousand hundred yolks

Squish up the yolk with water and put it in a bowl. Bake it in a baking pan for 5 minutes. Now you can eat them. Pour some milk to drink with it.

Bryan Krantz

*********************************************
Ice Cream:
3 yogurts
3 raisins
2 milks
4 sugars
5 sprinkles
9 nuts

Stir and stir and stir. Put in the oven 6 days. So, so, so, so, so hot. Put in a safe place and save it for a birthday. Eat cookies and ice cream.

Lindsay Chonofsky

*********************************************
Snoopy Dog Cake:
2 eggs
1 sugar
6 gallons of milk
1 salt

Put them in a pot. Get a mixer and mix them up. Put 2 raisins, one an ear and one another ear. Get an orange and squash it all over and put a raisin for the nose. Bake in the oven 20 minutes in a little bit hot. Do nothing. Take it out. You eat it and that's all.
