Mamaw's Strawberry Pudding Cake

Ingredients
- 1 box (18.25oz) yellow cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oiol
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 box (1.5oz) instant vanilla or lemon pudding
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups mashed strawberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 container (8oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 12 maraschina cherries, halved

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Add the cake mix, eggs, oil, and water to a large bowla nd mix well. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 13x9inch glass baking pan.
3. In a small bowl combine the pudding mix with the milka nd beat until all lumps are gone. Pour the prepared pudding over the top of the cake batter.
4. In a separate small bowl mix the mashed strawberries with the sugar. Spoon the strawberry mixture on top of the pudding mixture.
5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the cake is firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool the cake completely. Before serving, spread the whipped topping on top of the case and decorate with the cherries. Refrigerate any leftover cake.
