Ingredients
- 2 tsp cooking oil
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced (or 1/4 tsp powder)
- 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes (with juice)
- 14 oz. can of crushed tomatoes
- 1/3 cup water
- 3 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 2 1/2 tsp flakes)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried crushed chilies
- 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- pepper, sprinkle

Step 1
Heat cooking oil in large saucepan on medium. Add next 5 ingredients. Scramble-fry for about 10 minutes until ground beef is no longer pink. Drain.
Add remaining 11 ingredients. Stir. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, uncovered, for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are softened and sauce is thickened. Discard bay leaf.
