Ingredients
- 5 cups self rising flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 package yeast dissolved in 2 T warm water
- 3/4 cup shortening
Details
Preparation
Step 1
Sift flour, add sugar, cut in shortening, add dissolved yeast and buttermilk
Knead on floured board
Place in refrigerator or make in biscuits or dip in butter, fold for pocketbook rolls
Do not let rise
Place in refrigerator for net meal or in deep freeze to keep for several weeks
Bake 400-425 degrees for 15 minutes until brown
