Ingredients

  • GLAZE:
  • 1/2 C butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 C sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 C sour cream
  • 1 C water
  • 4 square bakers white chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 C poppy seeds
  • 1 T grated orange rind
  • 2 squares Bakers chite chocolate, chopped
  • 2 T orange juice
  • 1 C icing sugar, sifted

Step 1

Cake: Heat oven to 325F. Grease and flour a 13x9 cake or bundt pan. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and baking soda alternately to creamed mixture with sour cream and water. Mis on low speed until well blended. Fold in chopped chocolate, poppy seeds and orange rind. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until cake tester comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.

Glaze: Melt chocolate and orange juice. Stir in icing sugar and mix until smooth. Drizzle over cake before serving.

Can use orange liqueur instead of juice.
