Ingredients

  • 8 oz ground beef
  • 4 oz ground pork
  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp grated pecorino
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c chicken or beef broth
  • tomato sauce, for serving

Preparation

Step 1

Soak bread crumbs with milk for 5 minutes. Combine ground meats, oregano, pecorino, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Add egg to milk crumbs and combine everything together, kneading just until combined.
Roll into 10 large or 20 small meatballs.
Bring stock to a simmer and drop meatballs in to cook for 10 minutes. Or, sautee in a pan with oil or bake on a sheet pan.
Finish in tomato sauce and serve.
