Preparation

Step 1

-Combine all the ingredients for the BBQ sauce in a saucepan over high heat. Blend the ingredients with a whisk until smooth.
-When the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 30 to 45 minutes. If you overcook it and make the sauce too thick, thin it with more vinegar.
-Remove from heat. Sauce may be used right away or refrigerated.

COOKING RIBS
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Tear off aluminum foil that is roughly 6 inches longer than the ribs (I use a double or triple layer of foil for each packet). Coat the ribs, front and back, with sauce. Wrap tightly in foil. Place the ribs into the oven with the seam of the foil wrap facing up. Cook 2 to 2 ½ hours. Remove the ribs from the foil and smother them with additional sauce. Grill the ribs on a hot barbecue for 2 to 4 minutes per side. Serve the ribs piping hot with additional sauce on the side.

NOTE: Ribs can be prepared in advance (sauce in foil) and refrigerated 24 hours in advance.
