Brown Rice

If you soak you rice first before cooking it be so chewy when after you cook it.
1 cup uncooked rice makes approximately 3 cups cooked rice

- 1 1/4 cups water
- Substitute chicken broth for water to enhance the flavor of brown rice.

Step 1
Cooking table: 40 minutes- firm 50 minutes soft.

1 cup serves 2
2 cups serves 4
on the stove top:
Place 1 cup rice in saucepan and add 1 1/4 cups water bring to a boil and stir. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 50 minutes or until moisture is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.
in the rice cooker:
Place 2 cups of rice into the cooker. Add water to 3 cup line on the cooker (brown rice measurements may vary by rice cooker). Stir rice, close lid and start cooker. When cooking ends, let stand covered 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve
