Ingredients

  • 1/2 c popcorn kernals
  • 2 T oil
  • 6 oz bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 c unsalted raw cashews (2.5 oz)
  • 1 t course salt
  • 1/4 c cayenne
  • 1/4 c heavy whipping cream
  • 1 oolong tea bag
  • Pam spray
  • 1 /-1/2 c sugar
  • 1/4 c water
  • 2 T light corn syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Pop corn. Add crispy bacon and nuts. Sprinkle with salt and cayenne.

Bring creat and tea bag to boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and steep 15 min. Discard bag.

Line rimmed baking sheet with foil; spray. Coat 2 wooden spoons with spray. Stir sugar, water and corn syrup in lg saucepan over med-low heat til dissolved. Increase heat to high; boil w/o stirring til deep amber, about 13 min. Remove from heat and add cream; drizzle over corn/bacon mixture. Transfer to sheet and bake til caramel is shiny and coats the popcorn, about 20 min. Cool completely, tossing occasionally to break up large chunks.
