Ingredients
- 2-1/2 c flour
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1T baking powder
- 1 t kosher salt
- 6 T (3 oz. ) cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 4 oz. sharp cheddar cheese (1 c)
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 c whole buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven 450. Grease baking sheet. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Cut in butter resembles size of peas. Stir in cheese and bacon. Whisk together egg and buttermilk in small bowl. Add to flour mixture and stir until just incorporated.
Turn dough out into a lightly floured surface. Roll dough to 3/4” thickness. Cut into rounds using 3” round cookie cutter. Place dough on baking sheets and bake until golden brown, 12-14 minutes.
