Sazerac Cocktail

Introduced at the Sazerac Bar in New Orleans’ French Quarter, this is one of the most famous of New Orleans’ drinks. If you ‘re going there, pronounce it “SAZ-uh-rak."

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons rye whiskey or Kentucky bourbon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons powdered sugar
- 4 to 5 dashes Peychaud bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 cup ice
- 1 teaspoon Pernod
- Lemon twist for garnish

Preparation
Step 1
Mix whiskey, sugar, Peychaud and Angostura bitters with ice in a mixing glass.
Coat inside of a martini glass with Pernod and pour out; strain whiskey mixture into glass.
Garnish with lemon twist.
