Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 Tbls. confectioners sugar
  • 1 cup butter, cut in half
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup parsley

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 450 degrees F.

Stir together the flour, salt, baking powder, and confectioners sugar in a bowl.

Cut in 1/2 cup butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture looks like peas. Stir the milk in with a fork; just until the dough clears the sides of the bowl. Stir in the shredded cheese.

Place the remaining 1/2 cup butter and the garlic in a 9x13 baking dish and place in the oven until the butter melts and the garlic is fragrant. Remove from oven and stir in parsley.

Form dough into 12 balls, using 1/4 cup of the dough each. Roll balls in butter mixture and place in a single layer in the pan.

Bake 10-12 minutes until golden. Spoon any remaining butter on top and serve warm.
