Ingredients

  • 1 16-ounce round loaf King's Original Hawaiian Sweet Bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 10-ounce cans Mexicorn, drained
  • 1 7-ounce can Diced Green Chiles
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions, sliced
  • 12 ounces Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated (3 cups)
  • 6 large Eggs
  • 3-1/4 cups Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp White Pepper
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 3 cups Prepared Salsa

Preparation

Step 1

Place 1/2 of bread cubes into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle corn, chiles and green onions evenly over the bread. Top with 1/2 of cheese and then add remaining bread.

Whisk together eggs, milk and seasonings. Pour evenly over bread in pan; gently press bread down in pan to make sure it is covered with egg mixture. Top with remaining cheese.

Bake, covered, in a preheated 325-degree oven 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 to 20 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Cut into pieces and spoon some of the salsa over each.

Note: Dish can be prepared, covered and refrigerated overnight. Bake 45 minutes, covered, and 15 to 20 minutes uncovered.
