Ingredients

  • 64 light caramels
  • 1/2 cup light cream or evaporated milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup butter at room temp.
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Step 1

Melt caramels and cream. Cool slightly. Combine all ingredients except chips and nuts. Press half of crumbs in a cke pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, nuts, and top with caramel mixture. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Bake 15 to 20 minutes longer. Chill 1 to 2 hours.
