These are really good chocolate chip cookies. They are very similar to "Famous Amos Cookies". This recipe makes about 24 cookies. You can double or triple to suit your needs.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unbleached flour
  • 3/4 cup oat flour (this is the secret)
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup solid shortening (solid coconut oil or butter would work too)
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips

Sift all dry ingredients and set aside (or do this while your doing step 2)

Step 2
Cream together the shortening and sugars until fluffy. Occasionally scraping down the sides to be sure sugar and shortening are well mixed. With mixer running add vanilla and egg.

Step 3
Using a big wooden spoon(every kitchen should have one), stir in flour. Stir in chocolate chips.

Step 4
Drop onto parchment lined baking sheets. Bake at 350(convection) or 375 for approximately 10 minutes. Cool in pan for a couple minutes before removing to cool completely. You can store in an airtight container but they usually don't last that long in my house. Enjoy!
