Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 lemon rind, grated
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- juice of 1 lemon

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening, butter, 1 cup sugar and rind. Add eggs; mix in well. Sift flour and baking powder. Alternately add flour and milk to creamed mixture. Mix remaining sugar and lemon juice. Pour over hot bread and pierce with fork. Let stand 5 minutes before removing from pan.
