My mom hated to cook (the primary reason that I started cooking as a kid), but this is one of her old holiday party recipes that she passed on to me.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pkg chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 cups corn flakes
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 cup uncooked prunes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place the chocolate chips in a double boiler (or in a metal boil, over boiling water) and add the salt. Melt over moderately low heat.

2. In a large bowl, combine the corn flakes, walnuts, prunes and raisins. Mix well. Add the melted chocolate and mix well.

3. Drop by the tablespoonful, in a stack, onto cookie sheets, or plates (whatever fits in your refrigerator). Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
