Ingredients

  • 8 plum tomatoes, cored and cut in quarters
  • 1 Poblano pepper, cored and seeded, cut in quarters
  • 1 small onion, peeled and cut in quarters
  • 2 cloves peeled garlic
  • 1 small handful of fresh cilantro
  • juice from half a medium grapefruit
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt (or more/ less to taste)
  • dash of cayenne pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Place the tomatoes, pepper, onion, garlic, cilantro, juice and honey in a food processor.
Pulse 12 to 15 times until desired consistence is reached. Less times for chunkier salsa but more for smoother.
Add salt and cayenne to taste.
Serve with chips, or as a topping for meat, poultry or fish.
