Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Shortening
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Warm Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Packages Yeast
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Cups Flour

Preparation

Step 1

Scald milk
Add shortening, sugar and milk
Cool to lukewarm
Add yeast softened in water
Add eggs
Stir in flour and beat vigorously
Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk
Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead slightly, 10 times
Divide into 4 parts
Roll each part
Let rise about 1 hour
Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes (3 hours before supper)
