Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs beef chuck or round, sliced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Dash pepper
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sliced celery
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Splash of red wine
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cut meat across the grain into thin slices.
2. Heat butter in skillet also add garlic. Add beef & brown evenly on both sides. Season w/salt & pepper.
3. Remove meat ( set aside)
4. Saute onion & celery (carrots if you like) until soft but not browned.
5. Add beef to pan.
6. Mix broth, wine & soy sauce. Pour over mixture.
7. Simmer over low to med. heat until tender, approx. 15-25 minutes.
