Tip:
To stuff the cannelloni, I just "pile" all the ground beef mixture on a dinner plate, take a cannelloni in the upright position and press down into the meat mixture. That's it.

Ingredients

  • F I L L I N G:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tbsp of the spaghetti or pasta sauce
  • Brown ground beef and onions, drain fat. Add remaining ingredients. Cool to lukewarm
  • Stuff 12 cannelloni with meat mixture.
  • S A U C E:
  • 1 large can or jar(680ml) Catelli Spaghetti sauce
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 3 tbsp finely diced green pepper (optional)
  • Combine the above ingredients and simmer. Add any leftover beef , if any. You can add a little Parmesan or cream cheese to the sauce if desired.

Preparation:

1. Pour 1 cup sauce over 9x9 inch baking pan.

2. Arrange 12 cannelloni in pan, evenly spaced. Pour rest of sauce over cannelloni, making sure they are completely covered.

3. Top with mozzarella cheese.

4. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 60 to 70 minutes. Remove foil the last 20 minutes.

O P T I O N A L:
Add diced jalapeno or chile peppers to ground beef.

Use half hot Italian sausage and half ground beef.

Add some mozza to the beef mixture.
