Ingredients
- 1/2-cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4-cup buttermilk
- 1/4-teaspoon soda
- 2-3 bananas, ripened
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2-teaspoon salt 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step 1
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs to butter mixture and mix well.
Combine soda and buttermilk; peel bananas and pour the buttermilk mixture over them. Mash bananas in buttermilk mixture; stir banana mixture into creamed mixture. Combine baking powder, salt and flour. Stir flour mixture and vanilla into creamed mixture. Pour into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until done. Cool slightly, remove from pan and complete cooling on rack.
