Ingredients

  • 2 cans chicken broth (14 oz / 398 ml) 2
  • 375 ml water 1 1/2 cup
  • 250 ml brown lentils, rinsed & drained 1 cup
  • 250 ml celery, sliced 1 cup
  • 250 ml carrots, sliced 1 cup
  • 125 ml onion, chopped 1/2 cup
  • 5 ml fresh thyme, snipped 1 tsp
  • pepper to taste -
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced 2
  • 170 g sausage, cooked, smoked & sliced 6 oz

Step 1



In a large saucepan, combine chicken broth, water, lentils, celery, carrots, onion, pepper and garlic. Bring to boiling, reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 20 to 25 minutes or until vegetables and lentils are tender. Stir in fresh thyme and sausage. Heat through.
