  • salted cod
  • two large sweet onions
  • fresh garlic
  • green bell peppers
  • parsley
  • a little black pepper
  • potatoes peeled and cut up
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 roll crushed Ritz crackers

Step 1

Salted Cod

Put salted cod in cold fresh water for a couple of days; change water three times. (some people do the last soak in milk).

Sautee two large sweet onions with fresh garlic and green bell peppers cut up. Add parsley and a little black pepper.

Meanwhile cook some potatoes peeled and cut up; when boiling add the cod to it for about 3 to 4 minutes. Then take the cod out and shred it. Add to the sautéed onions and potatoes when cooked.

Put all in a pirex dish; melt 1 stick of butter and add 1 roll crushed Ritz crackers to it and spread on top of cod mixture. Bake @ 375F for about 30 minutes.
