- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable or sunflower oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3-4 (or more depending on density of dough) of flour

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients and flour as needed. Dough should be a moist dough, but if it is too sticky to handle add more flour as needed. Dough is about the consistency of cookie dough batter (chocolate chip cookies for example). The dough should be workable as you press it out with your hands into a large pan (we use a round pizza pan) or cookie sheet. You can reserve some of the dough to make a lattice top or little balls of dough to decorate the top, or use it all as a bottom crust and press the sides up a bit higher to hold in the filling. Top it with whatever you like (fresh fruit drizzled with a bit of honey or fruit preserve). Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the sides are golden brown. You can also make smaller crostate tarts and bake for less time accordingly.
