Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 small carton whipped cream (you can also use 1 package Dream Whip in place of the fresh cream)
  • 1 tespoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Mix butter, sugar, flour. Add beaten egg yolk and milk. Cook in a double boiler stirring till thick. Cool.

Beat egg whites, then whip cream. Add to mixture, add vanilla. Refrigerate till needed.

Keeps well for about a week in the fridge.

Excellent sauce for Christmas pudding, carrot or gingerbread cake.
