Ingredients

  • 1-2/3 cup rolled oats. Not instant or 5 minute.
  • 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 ts baking soda
  • 3/4 ts baking powder
  • 1/4 ts salt
  • 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 ts vanilla
  • 1 6oz package SEMISWEET chocolate
  • 1 3 oz bar good quality milk chocolate

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat to 375

Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Put the oats in the food processor and grind until fine powder. Set aside.

Stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Beat butter until light in color, about 2 minutes. Add both sugars and beat until fluffy and smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and beat until well blended.
Add the oats, chocolate and choc chips and beat until well mixed.

Supposed to make 30 but I make them a bit bigger than normal. Make into balls by rolling in your hands. Space 2-1/2 inches apart and make a thumb print on top. 8-10 minutes. Watch all time last 3 minutes!
