    box Uncle Ben's original wild rice

  • 1

    can button mushrooms (or sliced)

  • 1

    large can stewed tomatoes

  • 1

    lb bacon

  • 3

    cornish hens

Directions

Drain juice from mushrooms. Combine rice, mushrooms and can tomatoes; mix well and let stand for 1/2 hour. Then take bacon strips and cut then into 1 inch pieces and layer then in the middle of a large pan or cookie sheet. Take cornish hens and cut each one in half, wash and pat dry; then spread butter all over on skin side up, spread miracle whip on top of butter; sprinkle with garlic and parsley salt, a pinch of salt and fresh ground pepper. Sprinkle with paprika and arrange around outside of pan then pour rice mixture in the middle over the bacon pieces. Bake at 350 degrees Farenheit for 1 hour, basting only the rice 2 or 3 times.
