Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves

Preparation
Step 1
Cream together shortening, sugar, molasses and egg until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients. Stir into molasses mixture. Form into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
