Ingredients

  • Sauce
  • 1 very Large can tomato sauce(costco)
  • 1 large or 2 small cans tomato paste
  • 3 - 3.5 pounds of ground meat
  • 1/2 bottle of wine
  • 1 large onion chopped (vadalia)
  • 1 handful chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 Pkgs. Barilla Lasagna noodles - par boil for 2 minutes and immediate put into ice water.
  • grated Parmesan
  • grated mozzarella
  • Basciamella
  • 1 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Parmesan cheese (handful)

Preparation

Step 1

Sauce:
Brown most of the ground beef (reserve approx. 1/2 lb) with wine remove from pan and drain. Add a little olive oil to pan saute onion then add garlic and parsley - cook for 2 minutes add meat, tomato sauce, tomato paste (a little water with tomato paste) add oregano to taste. Make tiny little meat balls with remaining ground meat and add to sauce. Simmer for about an hour.

Basciamella:
Melt butter, add milk, add flour - stirring constantly - add salt & pepper.
Add egg 1 at a time - continue to stir
Add Parmesan stir until thickened

Assemble Lasagna:
Sauce 1st - bottom of pan
noodles
Basciamella thin layer
sauce
sprinkle with Parmesan & Mozzarella
repeat

Bake 350 for approx 1 hour or until bubbly.
