Ingredients
- 8 oz dry bread cubes or dressing mix
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 1 cup grated mild cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 4 oz. can sliced mushrooms
- 1 chicken, stewed, boned, and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 1 can cream chicken soup
- 1 soup can milk

Step 1
Mix bread cubes, butter, water, onion, celery and cheese. Spread half the mixture in a greased 9x13 pan. In large bowl mix mayonnaise, salt, mushrooms and chicken spread over dressing. Top with the other half of the dressing. Beat eggs and 1 1/2 cup milk. Pour egg mixture over the top dressing layer.
Refrigerate overnight. The next day, heat soup and one can of milk. Sprinkle with more cheese if desired. Pour soup mixture over casserole and bake one hour at 350 degrees.
